NSK Steering Systems America (NSSA) is a worldwide leader in steering system technology, proudly supplying the North America automotive industry.  The Dyersburg, TN manufacturing facility has a great opportunity for an experienced manufacturing supervisor (Team Leader).    

Team Leaders are key contributors to NSK’s success by overseeing and executing the daily activities required to meet all expectations of safety, quality and production goals/targets. Work is centered around training associates, planning, assigning, directing and executing work, assisting with appraising performance, promoting compliance, investigating complaints, resolving problems, time keeping and facilitating communication. 1. Accomplishes line/shift Key Performance Goals/Indicators by supervising associates and organizing and monitoring work processes.
2. Implements and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
3. Prioritization and facilitation of improvement activities and team building.
4. Maintains headcount by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities.
5. Accomplishes associate job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
6. Plans, monitors, and appraises job results.
7. Assure safety in the workplace, practices and housekeeping; investigate and correct near misses and accidents
8. Facilitate problem solving activities.  Shift Responsibility: encompass maintenance work order prioritization and direct labor prioritization/reassignment.
9. Assure quality of the product and effective containment of non-conforming product
10. Facilitate effective communication between shifts and work groups.
11. Schedule, track and approve timekeeping for direct reports along with vacation request

Minimum Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing/production environment
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting
• Basic computer skills (PC) and basic working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Preferred:

• Post-Secondary education
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment
• Experience in a related production environment or industry (automotive)
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform simple maintenance-related tasks
• Experience supporting ISO 9000 Quality Systems, Lean Manufacturing methods, etc.
